Ian MacLagan and Athlete Confirm As List Keeps Swelling
The Enormous Band List Of Doom just keeps on getting bigger, and from a quick whizz down the list, I can see that ever-such-nice-boys Athlete, as well as Ian MacLagan & The Bump Band (he was in the Small Faces, y’know) have been added to the British SXSW contingent.
The schedule still hasn’t gotten any more accurate, so the list’s still pretty unwieldy – and is anyone else having bands just arbitrarily deleted off your schedules? No? Just me, then.
its a major gripe of mine, bands evaporate, a list of bands who have been removed would make it all so much better but you just have to watch and pray the band you have been hoping to see doesn’t evaporate (cough The view). it gets bad for UK bands as they realize the visa won’t come in time. and new visa rules do not help.
I guess it’s not SXSW’s fault – there’s probably a load of bands who apply and then arrange other stuff in the meantime. Really irritating though.
its not the loss that annoys, its the lack of notification. (well not true I do get very sad when bands cancel but I don’t blame anyone)
I would kill for
a) a list of band name, country and genre, web link optional
b) list of bands that have been removed from the list
both of these are easy for SXSW to do but they don’t seem to listen to teh fact folks want this information.
